Becoming HER in REAL Time: Building The Journeyverse During Women’s History Month

A woman with long braided hair wearing a leopard print dress and red high heels walks away from the camera on a pavement, with a tennis court in the background. The text overlay reads 'Becoming HER in REAL Time: Building The Journeyverse During Women's History Month' and a red circle states 'MARCH BLOG 2026 ISSUE'.

March has a way of making me pause. Not in a loud, celebratory way, but in a quieter, more reflective one. It ushers in the beginning of spring, my favorite season of the year. A season where I feel myself shifting from caterpillar to butterfly after a winter of hibernation and underground building.

March also carries a different kind of weight. It signifies a celebration of womanhood. The good, the painful, the complicated, the messy, and the beautiful…all within thirty-one days.

Women’s History Month is often framed around the women who came before us. The ones who broke barriers, built movements, and carried stories the world tried to silence. But this year, I found myself thinking less about looking back and more about where I am right now.

A Black woman in her mid-twenties, building something from scratch. Learning in real time. Stretching, doubting, showing up anyway. Somewhere between who I was and who I am becoming, I realized something gently but clearly:

I am not just witnessing history. I am participating in it.

If you’re in a season of becoming too, this is your reminder that you don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. You just have to be willing to show up.

Building The Journeyverse While Building Myself

I am not where I thought I would be, but I am also not who I used to be.

I can say that now with peace. In my twenty-seven years of living, I have experienced many seasons. I am grateful to still be here, after trials, setbacks, and quiet battles most people never saw. One thing I know for certain is that God never left me behind. Every time a door closed, another opened in ways I did not expect.

Only three months into 2026, and I have already learned so much about life, business, love, and myself. The list honestly feels endless.

My support system has carried me in ways I cannot fully explain. I would not know where I would be without them. Their belief in me keeps me moving forward when things feel uncertain.

In January, I found myself coasting, trying to figure out my next career move. I have always known I wanted to be my own boss, but lately I have stepped more fully into my entrepreneurial journey. The Journeyverse is expanding. I am seeing repeat clients. New opportunities are opening beyond workshops into long-term relationships and partnerships.

I am taking my business seriously, working with nonprofits, exploring collaborations, and stepping into rooms I never imagined myself in before. Watching my “baby,” The Journeyverse, grow has been both humbling and affirming. I prayed for this many nights, and slowly but surely, it is unfolding.

Through faith, effort, and persistence.

As an entrepreneur, I understand the goal is to build sustainability and multiple streams of income. But beyond that, I am building something meaningful.

I am building The Journeyverse, but in many ways, it is building me too.

Its growth may feel small to some, but to me it feels powerful. I am building a loyal community while doing what I truly love. Writing and teaching writing. I have been writing since I was eight years old, and I know the younger version of me would be proud of how far I have come.

As a child, I spent hours alone in my room listening to my parents’ music, reading, and writing down my thoughts. I never imagined I would one day share my words with the world.

“Changing the world one word at a time” is not just a slogan. It is how I live.

When I teach workshops or coach writers, I guide storytellers through transformation. It does not happen overnight, but over time.

Anything meaningful requires process.

I would not call myself a master, but I know I offer a transformational experience you cannot find everywhere.

If you’ve been thinking about starting your writing journey or building something meaningful, this is exactly what I support through my coaching and workshops. You don’t have to do it alone.

What Women’s History Month Feels Like as a Black Woman in My 20s

Strength was taught to me. Softness is something I am learning.

There is something about your late twenties when everything begins to sharpen. You start asking harder questions. You move differently. You see clearly.

Turning twenty-seven has changed me mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially.

Things I once tolerated, I no longer entertain. My standards are clearer. My boundaries are stronger.

Like my former students would say, “it gets to a point.”

I embrace every part of who I am: the imperfections, the quirks, the confidence, the intelligence, the softness, and everything in between.

I used to worry about getting older. Now I see it as a privilege. Some people I love did not get the chance, and I honor them by building a legacy they would be proud of.

I am a Black entrepreneur in progress, and I am proud of that.

I refuse to shrink myself or compromise my values for anyone or anything.

I Am Not Waiting to Become Her

I am no longer waiting for perfect timing or perfection.

It is now or never. When opportunities come, I take them.

Everything I bring as a creative is enough. Every space I enter shifts in some way because I showed up fully as myself.

I know I am still becoming, but I also know I am already on my way.

Every closed door served its purpose.

I am excited to see where my mind, my creativity, and my faith take me next as The Journeyverse continues to grow.

I have big plans for 2026, and I am ready to take you with me.

This is what it looks like to grow, build, and become at the same time.

If this resonated with you, stay connected. More reflections, writing guidance, and upcoming workshops live here at The Journeyverse.
