Finally, after much anticipation...your favorite blogger is the back! Five whole long months have gone by, and I have been trying to figure out what to say about my hiatus. Life happens and it happens hard sometimes. These last few months have been challenging to say the least. I would like to think we have built up a great rapport. One where you the reader and me the writer have a little dialogue twice a month or so about any and everything so now that I have returned, I want to fill you in on my absence and what to expect for the future of the blog. Over the course of the past few months, I have experienced a series of transitions and transformations. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me to check on me and the status of the blog. I appreciate everyone who has been there for me throughout these months as I figure out and navigate a new chapter in my life, as well as those who have not taken my absence or silence lightly. Every kind word and piece of advice I have been given has motivated me greatly to pick up the pieces of my life because it truly is worth living. Thus, allowing me to return with resilience and confidence. Now I can continue be true to me, allowing me to in turn be true to my art.
Overall, I would like to extend all praise to The Mackies and their beautiful family. They are NOT relationship goals...they are a model for an upstanding union between two people in front of the world. Remy Ma and Papoose have stood the test of time through the industry, imprisonment, and lively strife. Black Love most certainly equals Remy Ma and Papoose.
Journey how the hell do you go from talking about The Sims to Female Rappers that dominated in the early 1990s to the early 2000s? Said no one ever. These women speak to me in many ways and not because their risqué lyrics speak to my Scorpio nature. Okay, maybe just a little...but it was their confidence, talent, and alpha female energy that truly influenced me. They were not afraid to take risks with their looks, lyrics, and everything else. I admired their bravery as teenagers just tryna figure it out while being in front of the world.
The Sims is a great tool for a full vision board and as they continue to make improvements it will only get better at reflecting real life with time because like fine wine, as it goes up in age it ups the quality. If you wanna plot your life and have some fun while your doing it hop on now and see where the Simulation will take you. After all, The Sims has been a permanent fixture in my life for over a decade.
According to Oxford Languages, Journey in its most basic context means, "an act of traveling from one place to another." The one that really resonates with me most is Oxford's second definition, "a long and often difficult process of personal change [or] development." I know this to be the truth because my mother confirmed it and well, I am living it.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines self-love as, "an appreciation of one's own worth or virtue." People express their love of self in many ways. This is not to be confused with being self-absorbed, vanity, or narcissism. Self-love is not selfish. Loving yourself for who you truly are is a necessity for a healthy life.
It's almost that time of the year and I find myself comfortable even amid the Muni Long's "Hrs & Hrs" phenomenon. Although, people are playing it like it's the air we breathe in, no one can deny the greatness of it. "Hrs & Hrs" is quite the catchy romance song of the moment right now, and as a result it has become the soundtrack for every couple video on social media. I would argue that is the anthem for love or being in love as we know it today. If you still don't what time I'm talking about by now, I'm referring to Valentine's Day, also known as Single Anonymous Day, the hallmark day of love, or plainly put just February 14th. The spotlight isn't just on the couples, but it's on the single folks too. This day weeds out the lovebirds from the rest of the world unlike any other day.
The daily grind for most people today is working eight-to-twelve-hour shifts. Subsistence living or more commonly known living referred to as "paycheck to paycheck." The wait until pay day can feel like forever and even like all that labor wasn't worth it. The pay and the cost of living these days just isn't adding up. No matter how much money we make the costs of everything just continues to increase. Minimum wage has not yet caught up to the price of gas or rent.
Every year we see memes on our social media newsfeed about things we are leaving behind. In some cases, many people also extend the chopping block to people or purposes that no longer serve them. We also take this time to make New Year's Resolutions as we step into this new chapter. This year I suspect will be no different.
